General Information

With 20 years of wilderness and mountain guiding experience we have organised adventurous and cultural trips to a variety of destinations. Trip aims have varied considerably, some have been to ascend major summits such as Mount Elbrus, Kilimanjaro or Mount Kenya, others to unclimbed 6000 metre high summits. At the other end of the spectrum some groups have visited the cultural treasures found in major cities of Russia, along the Turkish coast or in Libya. In 2006 year we were also observing the total solar eclipse in the middle of the Sahara, in 2008 we will go to the Altai mountains of Mongolia to watch it there.

East Africa is our most popular destination, being exotic and combining high mountains, culture, wildlife with beautiful coasts and a year round pleasant climate. Kenya offers the best value by far with Mt Kenya a much more interesting and beautiful mountain than Kilimanjaro. Most tourist facilities are generally better and cheaper in Kenya than Tanzania and flights to Nairobi easier to get and cheaper, however it is hard to rival the unique Ngorongoro Crater or Zanzibar in Tanzania and of course Kilimanjaro is the highest summit of Africa. A trip to Uganda, especially to the see the Gorillas or walk in Rwenzori or on Mount Elgon, is very rewarding but the tourist costs are high and the infrastructure mediocre.
